Early Spring Activities to Make You Feel Alive Again

It’s been a long winter of snow storms, ice storms, and Covid conditions. But Spring is back and that means warmer weather, longer days, and lighter hearts.

This month, we’re focusing on activities that will lift all of our spirits and fill our hearts with good feelings.

Animals Lift Our Spirits…

Our very own Beardsley Zoo is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. What began in 1922 with a donation of 18 birds has grown into a state-of-the-art facility caring for over 100 different species, including some of the cutest on the planet, like red pandas, otters, and tigers!

All this year, the zoo will be running centennial events and activities for families to celebrate this grand milestone. Come enjoy all of the animals while supporting the extensive conservation and education efforts of the Beardsley Zoo.

Flowers Lift Our Spirits…

The ColorBlend House and Garden has over 50,000 bulbs on ⅕ of an acre for you to enjoy. Dutch designer, Jacqueline Van der Kloet, has created a beautiful backyard wildlife habitat that will inspire you in your own home gardens.

Walk the grounds and gather ideas for your own Spring planting, including innovative ideas on composting, creating pollinator gardens, and artfully designing your garden beds. What better way to take in an early Spring day, than walking among the early flowers.

Laughter Lifts Our Spirits…

An incredible list of marquee comedians are coming to Foxwoods Resort and Casino this month. You’ve seen their Netflix specials and now you can enjoy their newest material while grabbing drinks and dinner at one of the country’s best casinos.

The second half of April features Jim Gaffigan (4/15), Wayne Brady (4/23), Tracy Morgan (4/29), and Iliza (4/30). Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster.

Adventure Lifts Our Spirits…

Connecticut has nearly a dozen different scavenger hunt adventures for you and your family to enjoy together. With a list of clues and a keen intellect, you can tackle scavenger hunts of various skill levels. Work in teams, couples, or buy yourself to collect points and advance on the leaderboards.

From Ultimate Treasure Hunts to Zombie Scavengers to Puzzling Adventures, there is sure to be a scavenger hunt perfect for you and your family. Check out more adventures at CT Visit.
