Introducing Our Healthy Mind Program: A New Era of Dementia Care at Home

We’re thrilled to announce a groundbreaking step forward in the way we support individuals living with Alzheimer’s and dementia: Assured Quality Homecare is launching the Healthy Mind Program, a transformative, non-pharmacological cognitive intervention based on the globally respected SAIDO® Learning method.

As the first independent home care agency in the United States to offer SAIDO® Learning in a home setting, this milestone reflects our unwavering commitment to innovation, compassion, and delivering the highest standard of care to our communities across Connecticut.

What Is the Healthy Mind Program?

Our Healthy Mind Program is built on the principles of SAIDO® Learning, an evidence-based method developed by the Kumon Institute of Education in Japan. Unlike traditional dementia care approaches that primarily manage symptoms, SAIDO is designed to actively stimulate the brain and promote engagement, using:

  • Simple arithmetic
  • Reading aloud
  • Writing exercises

These personalized activities are delivered in structured sessions by our specially trained Healthy Mind Supporters, and are tailored to the unique abilities of each participant. The results? Improved cognitive function, reduced anxiety, and stronger, more meaningful relationships with family and caregivers.

“We’re proud to bring this groundbreaking program to the communities we serve,” says ASQ founder Samanta Roseme, RN. “By helping individuals with Alzheimer’s and dementia stay mentally active, we’re not just improving cognitive health — we’re enabling deeper, more meaningful connections with their loved ones for as long as possible.”

Why It Matters

Dementia affects nearly 7 million Americans today, a number expected to double by 2050. The vast majority of older adults—77% of those over 50, according to AARP—prefer to age in place rather than transition to institutional care.

Our Healthy Mind Program is a powerful response to these needs, giving families new hope and a new option for high-quality cognitive care at home.

“There are so many stories of people becoming more engaged and less anxious after starting SAIDO,” says Jill Ricker, National Director of Operations for SAIDO. “We’re excited to see this program reaching families in their homes through dedicated partners like Assured Quality Homecare.”

Training & Quality: A Step Above

All of our Healthy Mind Supporters are trained through Covenant Living Communities and Services, the North American Master License Holder for SAIDO® Learning. These sessions are integrated with our internal Empower Training Academy, reinforcing our agency’s commitment to professional development and excellence.

“Our Empower Training Academy is the backbone of our success,” says Caleb Roseme, Executive Director. “By combining it with SAIDO’s methodology, we’re delivering a powerful, proven service that honors both our clients and their caregivers.”

Who Can Benefit?

If you or a loved one is living with:
